VETERANS COUNCIL OF DUVAL COUNTY

OUR COLLABORATION

Rolling Thunder®, Inc. Florida Chapter 4 works very closely with the Veterans Council of Duval County.  We collaborate together to help Veterans and their Families in a variety of ways including emergency funds, relocation assistance and medical equipment assistance.

How does it work?  The Council receives a multitude of various types of requests for help from Veterans throughout Duval County.  They pass many of these requests on to us to provide the required support and vice-versa.

How it works

  1. A Veteran or Veteran's Family simply visits the Veterans Council of Duval County website to learn about the Council:  https://jaxvcdc.org/
  2. A Veteran or Veteran's Family submits an email to the Veterans Council of Duval County explaining their need, issue or concern.  Emails can be sent to:  [email protected].  Be sure to put "Veteran In Need" in the subject line of the email.
  3. Once received, the request is pushed out to the Veterans Service Network, including Rolling Thunder®, Inc. Florida Chapter 4.
  4. The Veterans Service Network collaborates with the Veterans Council of Duval County to accommodate the request.
Note:  The Veterans Council of Duval County cannot guarantee that all requests will be fulfilled but they will certainly work with their network to make every effort to do so.  When making a request, please have your proof of both your Military service and your hardship available (ID, DD-214, bill/invoice, etc.)  Neither the Veterans Council of Duval County nor most of the Veterans Service Network will pay funds directly to the Veteran, Servicemember or Family Member.  In most cases funds are paid directly to the debtor.  Your situation and service will be vetted.

THE VYSTAR VETERANS MEMORIAL ARENA TRUST FUND

The purpose of the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena Trust Fund is to provide periodic funding to support Veterans' programs and initiatives serving U.S. Military Veterans residing in Duval County.  It is a permanent trust fund of the city that carries forward each year and does not lapse.

The City of Jacksonville will donate to the Trust Fund 10% of the annual license fee revenues, together with  10% of any liquidated damage fees paid pursuant to the Vystar Arena Naming Rights Agreement.  The Veterans Council of Duval County evaluates eligible programs and initiatives and makes recommendations for funding and provides full accounting to Mayor's Office each year.
