WE ARE SMALL BUT WE ARE MIGHTY
Shakespeare once wrote, "Though she be but little, she is fierce," a quote by Helena about Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream. We relate to this quote. We may be a small organization but we make a big impact. Whether it is our own single effort or a collaborative effort with other Chapters, organizations or agencies, we manage to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those Veterans and Families in need.
We also strive to make a difference in our community by educating the public about POW/MIA issues and Veterans issues, Sometimes our only goal is to make our fellow citizens smile.
We have listed just a few of our efforts that have impacted our community and those who live in it.

HELPing LOCAL VETERANSWe work very closely with the Veterans Council of Duval County to help our local Veterans and Families. The Council receives a multitude of various types of requests for help from Veterans throughout Duval County. They pass many of these requests on to us to provide the required support and vice-versa. Our support efforts vary depending on requests; we have even had members help Familes load moving vans. We make every effort to accommodate the requests we receive. If, for some reason, we are unable to accommodate a request, we try to locate a source better fitted or funded to help. Some of our assistance to Veterans includes:
We ride in procession to the Robert H. Jenkins, Jr. State Veterans' Domiciliary Home and circle the entry parade style. Nothing brings us more joy than seeing the Residents waiting for our arrival and the happiness in their faces as we pass by. It is both heartwarming and humbling to bring pleasure to our Veterans who have sacrificed so much for our safety and freedom.

Our members feel a responsibility to contribute to our local community and educate those around us bout POW/MIA, Veterans and Military Families issues. We are proud of our efforts listed below.
COLLABORATING TO ESTABLISH THE
POW/MIA MEMORIAL & MUSEUM We raise funds, coordinate and attend ceremonies at the National POW/MIA Memorial and Museum. We provide various assistance to the Chapel of the High Speed Pass in its effort to turn its vision of the Memorial and Museum into a reality. Learn more about our efforts HERE.
FLAG DEDICATIONS
We donaate and present POW/MIA Flags to schools and government buildings. We are currently making arrangements to present a POW/MIA flag to the U.S.S. Orleck, a Destroyer, permanently docked at Old Pier 1 in downtown Jacksonville. The Orleck's days as an active Destroyer are done and it now serves as museum standing as a testament to Naval Historhy.
POW/MIA CHAIR DEDICATIONS
We are so proud to have collaborated with the other Rolling Thunder® Inc. Florida Chapters to donate a POW/MIA Chair at the Florida State Capitol. Through fundraising events and donations, we dedicated a beautiful, permnanet place of remembrance to our POW/MIA Americans. On a national level, Rolling Thunder® Inc. dedicated a POW/MIA Chair at the U.S. State Capitol. These Chairs forever remind us of their sacrifice.

BRINGING AWARENESS TO OUR COMMUNITY
Through our events which are always open to the public, we are able to greet the citizens of our community and focus attention on our mission. We organize, collaborate and participate in many local or statewide events such as bike runs and ceremonies. We speak at gatherings and ceremonies providing information about our efforts and successes. We ride together to events and ceremonies helping our Veterans and their Families know we are here for them and we believe in them. Sometimes our processions just bring a smile to people's faces and that makes our day. Learn more about our events HERE.
